Solution Architect - Enterprise IntegrationFull Time PermWay of Work : Hybrid - two days on locationSalary Range: $107,000 - $188,600, plus annual bonusLocation: Columbus, OHRelocation assistance providedThe NiSource IT Customer organization is accountable for all NiSource customer facing systems, including all Customer engagement Channels (Web/Mobile/Chat/IVR), Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Call Centers, CRM, Sales, and Marketing and Energy Supply trading. The Solution Architect’s (SA) primary responsibility and accountability is to provide architecture leadership for the current and future NiSource technology environment within the IT Customer organization. This includes serving as the Solution Architect on the Columbia Gas Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) technology project and Customer Transformation program.The Solution Architect will work closely with the lead Enterprise Architect for the domain, the IT Portfolio Manager, and the Project Manager of these projects to organize the development effort and deliver technical solutions that satisfy the projects business objectives. The SA ensures that IT solutions meet current and proposed NiSource architecture standards, develops conceptual and detailed cross-functional design solutions and determines the application and technology requirements. The designs are reviewed with the lead EA and other SA peers in the architecture group and presented within IT leadership. The SA collaborates with the Business Analyst (BA) to determine the non-functional requirements of the solution, including availability and scalability. The SA assists with all phases of the track including design, build, test, and implementation. NiSource follows a specific project methodology with deliverable templates which the SA uses.The Solution Architect will also work with IT and EA leadership, business leaders, and service providers to develop and implement architecture strategies, as well as developing methodologies and processes to ensure compliance to those strategies. The solution architect will work with Enterprise Architects to develop and maintain Technology Roadmaps aligned with approved IT Investments and approved by IT Leadership.Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provide architectural leadership on the design and development of a solution for the NiSource enterprise
Drive the translation of the business client's complex business problems into the selected technology solutions by designing complete solutions that leverage various IT services components
Research possible solutions and alternatives for implementation of the project technology applications, business process and technical problems, problems, performs an analysis of alternatives, and leads the recommendation to a solution
Coordinate and develop systems integration designs for the project, including high-level and detailed system, application and technology diagrams
Align the selected technology solutions with the technical architecture, operational processes and lifecycle processes
Ensure that the IT solution fits with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards as well as IT strategies and IT product roadmaps
Create solution architecture documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle of the solutions
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience in IT application development
5+ years of experience functioning as a solution architect
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of systems development methodologies and systems integration methodologies
Knowledge of business application technical design and implementation
Knowledge of IT Application, Security, and Infrastructure architecture and design
Customer system experience (Digital channels: Web/Mobile/Chat, Contact Center systems, AMI, Billing, Data & Analytics)
Utility industry experience (Gas, Electric)
Familiarity with the standards and best practices bodies i.e. The Open Group, OMG, UML, ITIL, CoBIT, CMMi, Six Sigma/LEAN etc.
