Role Summary:
Dabico A-Bridge is looking for a hands-on HVAC Electrical Engineer with practical experience designing and building control panels for HVAC systems, compressors, and industrial power equipment. This role plays a critical part in the development and production of a ground support equipment and infrastructure solutions for airports. The ideal candidate combines strong electrical design knowledge with on-the-floor manufacturing support experience, especially in HVAC and industrial systems.
Core Responsibilities:
Translate customer and project requirements into detailed electrical designs and schematics for HVAC systems, compressors, and control panels.
Build and wire electrical panels in accordance with UL standards and applicable codes (NEC, ANSI, IEC).
Oversee the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through procurement, fabrication, and final system delivery.
Work closely with manufacturing to support testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of electrical components.
Generate and maintain engineering documents, including BOMs, technical drawings, manuals, and submittal packages.
Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and environmental standards during design and production phases.
Engage in cost-effective sourcing of electrical components and manage vendor relationships.
Identify and implement continuous improvement and R&D initiatives, particularly in panel layout, HVAC control optimization, and electrical system reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support field installations and commissioning as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
3+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, preferably in HVAC, compressors, or industrial automation/airport environments.
Strong working knowledge of control systems, panel layout, wiring standards, motor controls, and HVAC integration.
Proficient in SolidWorks (especially Electrical), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with ERP systems and managing parts inventory/BOMs.
UL Certified
Familiarity with UL panel standards, NEC code, and industrial safety practices.
Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced production setting.
Working Conditions:
Primarily based at the Indianapolis office with daily interaction on the production floor.
Occasional travel for supplier coordination or site support.
Hands-on environment requiring active participation in panel building, wiring, and testing.
