Northeast side elderly couple needs assistance every day between the hours of 9am and 9pm. These hours will be divided to create multiple part time positions. Exactly how the hours are divided will depend on the availability of the qualified candidates who apply.
The first essential qualification is background. Applicants must have experience doing this kind of work. Please be prepared to tell us about current and previous employers and other relevant experience. Also, references are required. Please check ahead to be sure they don't mind to receive a call from us. We will run background checks on everyone who applies. Applicants with previous issues involving addictions, dishonesty, or violence will not be considered.
Since the husband has Parkinson's, we are looking for people with heavy-lifting ability and specific training to lift disabled elders while protecting their spine and joints. A related responsibility will be to assist with toilet hygiene and occasional bathing. Bathroom areas must be cleaned and maintained meticulously after each use.
Since the wife has severe allergy and blood pressure conditions, another important qualification will be the ability to cook and provide simple nutritious meals for people with special dietary restrictions. The kitchen area is used throughout the day, so maintaining an absolutely clean environment there is critical.
After initial interviews, a few final candidates will be invited directly to the home of the couple. This is an opportunity to convey further details of the job in the actual environment, and it is also a chance to consider the candidate's overall "fit" with the personalities and dynamics within the home.
