Assistant General Manager
Location: The Labor District Cafe
Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday | approx 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. | No nights, No weekends
Compensation: $45-$50,000 salary + tips + service fees

Position Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a vital leadership role in the daily success of our operations. As a key support to the General Manager, the AGM brings strong “manager eyes”—noticing what needs to happen, jumping in where needed, and keeping the team aligned and efficient throughout the day.
This role balances hands-on leadership in the cafe with some administrative coordination behind the scenes, supporting daily service, team communication, and the growth of our catering program. This position also includes being the primary person responsible for catering deliveries, requiring professionalism, organization, and strong time management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-of-House Leadership Oversight
- Supervise daily cafe operations and maintain high service standards
- Catering/wholesale orders and timing
- Shift planning
- Identify and address service flow issues and communication gaps proactively
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of staff (as needed)
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper stock, organization, and reordering
- Model professionalism, hospitality, and accountability on every shift
Catering & Wholesale Coordination:
- Serve as the main point of contact for catering clients
- Respond to inquiries, send quotes, confirm orders, and manage communication
- Create and send invoices
- Maintain and a catering calendar
- Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth order execution
- Consistently complete catering deliveries (only within office park)
- Represent LDC with professionalism and warmth at all delivery drop-offs
Administrative Operations:
- Maintain clear communication with the GM
- Participate in manager meetings and contribute ideas for improvement
- Help refine internal systems to support team efficiency and guest satisfaction
Ideal Qualifications:
- 2+ years of leadership or coordination experience in food service, catering, or hospitality
- Strong “manager eyes” with the ability to spot and solve problems quickly
- Calm and confident leadership in both busy and quiet moments
- Highly organized and dependable with excellent follow-through
- Clear, professional communication with team members, guests, and clients
- Valid driver’s license and ability to complete deliveries as needed
- Comfortable with Google Drive, POS, and basic invoicing platforms
