Job Description:-

CLIENT Operational Technology and Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineeringteam in Indianapolis, IN supporting development of advanced airborne systems including podded communication link andsensor systems, airborne armament equipment, alternate mission equipment, cockpit displays, avionics, and radarsystems.

Additionally, this role will support the integration of new and existing systems onto airborne, shipborne, andground vehicles.

Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting thecontinued advancement of your career.The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of new products and test hardware, as well as the

improvement of existing products.

The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during the proposal andconcept evaluation, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design.

Theengineer will create design solutions that meet product requirements using 3-D CAD modeling software and will be hands-on supporting production, integration, and testing.

The engineer will develop solutions which leverage commercial off theshelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware.

The engineer must be capable of researching and distillinginformation from vendors and collating information.

The engineer shall perform design reviews, equipment integration,profiling, and testing. The engineer will provide leadership on mechanical issues to the project team, working closely withsystems, electrical, and test engineers.In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate leverages strong verbal and written communication to adapt to awide variety of high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

Required Skills:· Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with hardware – not afraid to use tools, assemble prototypes, etc.· A minimum of eight years professional work experience required.· Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies· Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)· Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)· Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments· Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements for systems· Performing trade studies· Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills.· Must have strong teaming skills, and good communicationskills.· Proficient at one or more of Aircraft Structures Design, Ground Structures Design, Electronics Packaging, or Platform Integration· Engineering Documentation Practices: Proficient· Environmental. Testing: Competent· Environmental Design: Proficient· Mfg. Methods: Proficient· Requirements: ProficientDesired Skills:

Design, integration, or test experience/understanding ofany combination

Airborne podded systems

Custom/COTS Electronics including wires,relays, and analog electronics

Design for human factors / safety.

Prototyping and agile methodology (quick turn solutions)

Understanding manufacturing / fabrication of non-exoticmaterials

Understanding of structural design

CREO skills or ability to come up to speed quickly
