We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to lead our Market Intelligence efforts. This position may be filled at either the Manager or Director level, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.This role, part of the Power Supply team, will help bridge the gap between evolving wholesale electricity markets and their impact on WVPA’s diverse portfolio of resources. A central focus of this role will be to proactively monitor, assess, and communicate key developments from MISO committee meetings, ensuring WVPA is informed, engaged, and positioned to respond strategically.You’ll join a collaborative team responsible for supply contract negotiations, resource acquisition and development, long-term planning, resource adequacy, RTO/ISO engagement, and large load integration. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and communicator, deeply familiar with RTO market design and stakeholder processes, and skilled at translating complex market issues into actionable insights.Key Responsibilities:Actively participate in and monitor MISO/PJM stakeholder meetings, including committees, subcommittees, and working groups.Translate MISO/PJM market design discussions and proposals into strategic insights and implications for WVPA’s portfolio and operations.Analyze and communicate the impact of proposed market design changes and RTO policies on WVPA’s cost structure, planning, and risk profile and recommend tactical and/or strategic response. Develop briefings and strategic guidance for internal stakeholders and member cooperatives.Support regulatory filings, stakeholder comments, and testimony at FERC and state commissions.Coordinate across departments to ensure market policy aligns with long-term planning, operations, and transmission strategy.Conduct research and quantitative analysis on wholesale market performance and policy trends.Track, model, and forecast energy pricing dynamics, capacity outlooks, and RTO planning initiatives.Lead advocacy for Wabash Valley Power with key regulators and RTO stakeholder processes by gathering input from Wabash Valley Power subject matter experts.Supports development, negotiation and filing of transmission and generator interconnection and other agreements required to be filed with regulator.Monitor FERC and state filings.
