You have the opportunity to work fully remote within the United States.The mission of the Safety Surveillance & Collaboration (SS&C) team within CVS Healthspire Payor & Life Sciences Solutions, is to actively monitor the US public health in collaboration with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), academic institutions, and other health insurance companies. The SS&C team conducts descriptive research, medical chart review validations, and pragmatic research using the FDA Sentinel Common Data Model (SCDM), Sentinel and Distributed Research Network (DRN) tools, Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) CDM, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Initiative (PCORI) CDM, and Aetna’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).The Lead Decision Scientist role will provide epidemiological expertise to design real-world data studies, analyze very large data sets in real time databases; develop and implement mathematical approaches; design and/ or consult on scientific and analytical plans and use statistical descriptive and predictive modeling techniques to evaluate health outcomes. The role will use the appropriate skills to solve highly complex research questions or business problems to support scientific knowledge expansion and decision making; and work in collaborative research with distributed research or shared protocols.The role will also provide presentations to internal teams and external clients. The role is expected to work collaboratively in a team environment.Required Qualifications
10+ years in epidemiologic research, healthcare analytics, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, or related field using Real World Datasets
6+ years of SAS programming experience
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive epidemiologic study design and data analysis experience
Extensive experience in government and industry scientific work
Experience with writing abstracts, proposals, and manuscript writing with peer-reviewed journals
Experience with healthcare claims databases
Experience working with and integrating large datasets from multiple sources
Knowledge of FDA Sentinel Initiative (BEST, Sentinel, and/ or NEST programs)
Experience with Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP), FDA Sentinel Common Data Model (CDM), and/or Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) CDM
Proficient with multi-tasking
Track record of collaborative team work

EducationRequired: PhD in Epidemiology, Health Analytics, or similar degreePay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$106,605.00 - $284,280.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
