Job Title:Labor Relations ManagerPay Grade:M3Job Description:The Labor Relations Manager role will serve as the key liaison between the company and the union ensuring smooth communication and resolution of labor issues. The role involves leading and advising on labor relations matters, including collective bargaining agreements, contract administration, grievances, and dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities:

Provide advice, attend, and draft position statements on issues filed in the grievance procedures and investigations.

Assist in negotiating and coordinating Collective Bargaining Agreement

Collaborate with HR to ensure human resource operations strategies align with labor agreements.

Mentor, advise, and train management on the best practices for labor relations issues such as collective bargaining, responding to grievances, discipline, attendance management, and other LR concerns. Investigate, assist, draft, and represent the company's position in various proceedings such as NLRB, unemployment, EEOC, arbitration, and/or other labor negotiations.

Negotiate and draft contract proposals or counterproposals for collective bargaining and departmental mutual agreements.

Maintain active involvement and interaction with elected and appointed union representatives and operations leadership to help foster a positive labor/management relationship.

Ability to interpret and apply the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the UAW and plant policies and regulations as well as adherence to laws and regulations.

Handle employee grievances, mediating as needed to resolve disputes.

Openness to the viewpoints of others and taking those viewpoints into account when making business decisions or recommendations.

The courage to make decisions, even in the face of ambiguity and situations where there are no "right" answers, and the conviction to see them through to execution.

Attention to the implications of decisions and the impact on precedent and future efficiency.

Strong communications skills: interpersonal, oral and written

Must be able to work with and influence all levels within the organization

Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, balance multiple tasks and meet agreed upon deadlines

Digital Literacy: Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and Outlook

Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze and translate data

Qualifications

Ability to prepare and present material to third parties.

Proven experience in maintaining relationships with multiple levels of an organization.

Advanced organizational, analytical, writing, advocacy, consultative, problem-solving, and coaching.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Self-starter who displays motivation, innovation, and passion.

Experience

A minimum of 8 years of working in labor relations or equivalent education with a master's degree from an accredited college or university may be considered.

Preferred:

Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations or Human Resources.

10+ years of working in a labor relations capacity in a union environment. Demonstrated working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to, NLRA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and USERRA.
