The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing month-end close processes, managing limited endowment and grant accounting, and ensuring compliance with audit standards.Responsibilities:

Oversee month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Manage endowment and grant accounting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and donor restrictions.

Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audit engagements.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management to support decision-making processes.

Provide guidance and training to finance team members on accounting principles and best practices.

Monitor and evaluate internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning initiatives.

Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting accounting and financial reporting.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in higher education or nonprofit sector.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.

Experience with month-end close processes, financial analysis, and audit preparation.

Proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
