Construction Engineer - Indianapolis, INWe are actively hiring a Construction Engineer to join a growing, mid-sized engineering firm in Indianapolis, IN. This person will report directly to the Lead Construction Manager, and daily work activities will primarily include coordination between Inspector Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), Project Engineers, and Project Managers. This person will assist in training and overseeing inspection staff to ensure project time, cost management, documentation, communication, risk management, and quality assurance expectations are met. This person may also need to fill-in as an RPR on projects when needed. Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspection as-needed.

Fill in for inspectors (RPRs) on the job sites when assigned RPRs are not available.

Assist with facilitating and conducting regularly scheduled construction meetings.

Coordinate with contractors to schedule inspection activities and help resolve design and field issues.

Assist with project management for technical and cost efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.

Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.

Ensure federal, state and local regulations for construction procedures and safe working conditions.

Job Requirements:

2+ years of professional experience within Construction Management (will accept either General Contractor or Civil Engineering background )

Ability to read and interpret Construction Plan Sets, Project Drawings, and Project Specifications

Ability to analyze Project Costs and understand Bidding, Estimating, and Project Risk Assessment

Proficiency in Microsoft Software to prepare professional documents

Ability to travel across Indiana for site visits or to fill-in when needed

Professional experience utilizing ProCore

Desire to seek professional development

Preferred Experience - Not Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent discipline

Previous Experience within Construction Inspection, Underground Utilities, Sewer, or Wastewater Plant projects

Familiarity with federally-funded infrastructure

Experience leading professional meetings

Miscellaneous:

Travel may be required across Indiana and parts of Kentucky, with overnight stays necessary at-times

Candidates will utilize their own vehicles with mileage paid at the standard federal reimbursement rate

Time-and-a-half for overtime hours, and frequent performance evaluations with yearly pay increases each July
