Biological Assay Group Leader

Provide technical leadership on Effector Function Testing for BiologicsPerform cell-based assays to support preclinical development of the moleculesIdentifying and helping troubleshoot issuesResponsible for timely delivery & documentation of assay data and providing support for study reportsOther expertise desired for the role are:Biology experience, including, but not limited to, the following: mammalian cell culture techniques and cell-based assay developmentELISAs and luciferase reporter assaysFlow cytometryCapable of balancing multiple tasks at once while delivering the highest standard of quality data.Having SPR expertise is a plusAdditional Preferences: Experience:Transient and/or stable cell line generationExperience with automation of cell-based assays on Hamilton or other Liquid handlers.Characterizing protein structure and function using various biochemical/biophysical approaches such as SPRCharacterizing protein: protein interactionsMicrosoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Graphing data in GraphPad PrismStrong interpersonal skills; able to foster an environment for learning and open/honest communicationAbility to identify and implement operational and organizational improvementsAnalytical/Problem-Solving skillsSupervision of others:Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvementsFoster motivation and moraleCoordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TATPrepare and review job plans, conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growthLaboratory maintenance (e.g. cleaning and sanitizing of laboratory)Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaborationProactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivityEnsure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality systemDevelop and implement operational improvementsMonitor and approve employees’ time worked through time-entry systemSupport and promote company policies and procedures
