Title:  Automated Line Operator Reports to:  Production SupervisorJob Purpose:  Line Operators run automated lines, monitor equipment during production, ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards, and set up and changeover metal stamping dies. The ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of experience. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Set up, change, change over, and operate line according to production specificationsInspect equipment before and monitor equipment during production.  Confirm that it is working properly by checking process parameters and indicators.Set up specific part programs and parameters for metal stamping presses, feed lines, and dies using the company’s standard practices and proceduresPerform quality checks according to the company’s procedures to verify die set up prior to production runInitiate work orders for dies going into triage rack or die shop for repairsMake and maintain shims for blank and form diesMaintain die racks and mounting plates in organized mannerFix broken punches or sections of dies in the press or die shopExamine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with fixtures or templates to ensure conformance with specificationsReport production quantities and labor detail accurately and according to the company’s recording processTroubleshoot mechanical issues and identify the cause of errors, problems and defectsMaintain production related documents and logs to ensure availability and accuracyReview production scheduling reports with Supervision to ensure production activity aligns with customer demand and corporate inventory goalsEnsure team members have the appropriate equipment, tools, and material to work on their assigned jobMonitors and audits shift’s production activity to ensure safety and quality procedures are adhered to.Audits compliance with standard work instructions and process control plans to ensure production of good parts.Audits production entries of other operators in the absence of SupervisionAssists Supervision with cross training and employee development within the departmentReviews un-planned scrap with employees and Supervision to identify root cause and implement effective countermeasures.Champions the Quick and Easy Kaizen program by actively soliciting suggestions and helping team members implement product and process improvements.Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead crane, etc to move raw material and parts as neededAble to lift up to 50lbsPerform other duties as required or assigned by supervisorFollow all OSHA and internal safety standards
