Job DescriptionOur Mechanic in the Ground Support and Equipment Department is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a wide range of ground support equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs on vehicles and equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and ground power units. You will ensure all equipment adheres to safety and operational standards and is available for use as required. You will also maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and collaborate with the ground support team to address any equipment-related concerns efficiently.WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A GSE MECHANIC

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various ground support equipment, including vehicles and machinery
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in ground support equipment
Operate a range of tools and equipment for repair and maintenance tasks
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when performing maintenance work
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair needs
You have a great attention to detail

Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years old
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, ideally with ground support equipment in an aviation environment
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems effectively
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various environmental conditions
Flexibility with working hours, including availability for shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays
Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets
Ability to pass a drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various ground support equipment, including vehicles and machinery
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in ground support equipment
Operate a range of tools and equipment for repair and maintenance tasks
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when performing maintenance work
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair needs
Coordinate with the equipment management team for maintenance schedules and priorities
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in handling and disposing of hazardous materials
Assist in the inspection and testing of equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency
Stay updated with technical knowledge and skills through ongoing training and certifications
Provide technical support and advice to ground support staff
Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the maintenance area
Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and practices
Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Demonstrate the following competencies: Problem-Solving, Customer Service, Interpersonal, Oral Communication
