Through investments in growth, resources, and technology we strive to enhance the experience of our internal team members and to continue creating amazing live experiences for the guests that we serve.   Responsible for daily repair and preventative/corrective maintenance of the facility and the related building systems within the appropriate discipline (HVAC) and providing event related support as required for the Fishers Event Center . Primary focus of position is the i ce operation s . Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work on i ce s ystems at the Arena including building and painting ice, maintaining ice refrigeration system and daily ice maintenance including operation of Zamboni as needed.

Maintain, diagnose, and correct facility and appropriate building systems in all facilities within appropriate discipline (HVAC).

Provide preventative and corrective maintenance and repair and installation of new equipment as needed.

Provide necessary information for the proper purchase of preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems.

Respond to routine and emergency calls and make necessary repairs.

Research, develop and make recommendations regarding the maintenance and capital

Monitor system efficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions .

Assist in the daily oversight of appropriate contractors .

Provide event related maintenance, services, and support.

Review, perform and maintain regular department work orders and equipment

Conduct regular inspections of workspaces to ensure proper housekeeping, safety and compliance exists for the protection of health, safety and rights of employees and the public.

All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED required .

3 years’ experience is required in the maintenance of building and equipment systems in an industrial or commercial setting preferred.

Previous experience with Ice operations including Zamboni operations preferred.

Must have ability to possess and maintain current OSHA Forklift and Personnel Lift Certification

Skills and Abilities

Basic working knowledge of electricity, electrical currents, and mechanical blueprints

Must have good oral and written communications skills and communicate effectively

Basic computer skills required in tasks such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Must be results driven and have a positive attitude.

Ability to think outside the box and not accept business as usual. Must be willing to look for new ways of doing things.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the City’s driving requirements for City equipment.

Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.

Strong customer service skills.

Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly s upervises laborers/maintenance workers. The Building Engineer fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requires dexterity to use hand tools common to plumbing industry: hammers, wrenches, metal snips, electric drills, measurement gauges, acetylene torches, pressure gauges, manometers, and other testing devices.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
