Job Title: Sanitation TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Sanitation Technician will often work independently throughout the entire plant. This role requires the completion of a daily rotation checklist of basic cleaning tasks to maintain the plant (buildings, equipment, grounds) in an orderly and clean condition. The technician must understand their role in the Food Safety Management System and report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.Responsibilities
Clean all drains inside production area.
Work at heights and in confined spaces.
Clean, sweep, and wash flour accumulation on stairways and balconies inside production areas.
Clean and maintain the flour silo area.
Set up equipment for tasks using sanitizers and other cleaning products.
Vacuum inside the mill structures and packing buildings.
Pressure wash internal and external production areas.
Complete work records for various jobs.
Perform light maintenance duties such as sanding, painting, and grinding.
Miscellaneous duties according to the position.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Clean and sanitize interior drains by rinsing, scrubbing, and flushing with sanitizer.
Detailed cleaning of interior production areas including dusting, sweeping, pressure washing, and vacuuming.
Assist the mill in cleaning production equipment during shutdowns and scheduled cleaning procedures.
Use and handle chemicals and equipment properly, including PPE, SDS, storing, transporting, and handling.
Practice good GMPs including good hygiene, housekeeping, and preventing cross-contamination.

Ability to follow simple written instructions.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 80 ft silos).
Basic hand tools and light maintenance skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience.
Prior manufacturing experience.
Forklift experience (optional).
HS diploma/GED or equivalent.

No cell phones are allowed on the production floor; they must be left in lockers or vehicles. The position is contract-to-hire, with eligibility to go direct after 640 hours given an internal opening. The day shift hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and occasional Saturday work for 3-5 hours (approximately once a month). The dress code includes a provided purple hard hat, clean jeans or work pants, a t-shirt (no sleeveless), no holes, tears, or offensive language on clothing, steel toe boots, and a belt.
