Cardiac Renal Unit MS/Tele RN - Nights - Evansville, IN AUTO OFFER NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)$3,206 gross weekly / 48 hrs. $2,398 gross weekly / 36 hrs. Contract Length: 13 weeksStart: 11/18 or 12/2 - Bi-weekly orientationGuaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)Primary location: Evansville, INShift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Campuses are 8 miles apart & potential to float to campus 11 miles away. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/AWeekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Tele/M/S, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)Patient Population: High acuity – Tele/M/S, Cardiac heavy, (Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions. CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, dialysis.Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, etc.). PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio), nephrostomy tubes.Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates.Unit Information: 32 beds. Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-7; CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift.Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit. Manager has been over the unit for 15+ years and has built a strong team! Seeking contracts due to upcoming FMLA for multiple staff. Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubsCovid-19 Vaccine Not Required Subject to change As a professional practitioner, the RN - Telemetry assumesthe responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetrypatients. The RN – Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinicaljudgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibits critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards while remaining accountable forproviding patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, andevaluate patient care on telemetry unit

Performs focused interview to identify specific patientneeds

Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic andpsychosocial changes in the patient’s condition

Monitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of anychanges

Records vital signs, including oxygen levels, bloodpressure, breathing patterns, etc.

Monitors patient progress and updates patient medicalrecords as needed

Responds to patients experiencing cardiac pain

Performs various diagnostic tests

Manages and administers medication

Monitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG

Educates patients on cardiac health and communicates withpatient’s family when applicable

Administers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them tothe physician

Documents the patient’s plan of care using identifiednursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursinginterventions

Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient carerequirements

Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard

Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment

Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes inmedical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions

Documents patient’s response to nursing and otherinterventions

Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meetpatient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established priorities

Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment

Minimum Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which thenurse practices

One year experience in Telemetry Preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
