Transportation CAD Designer - Crown Point, INWe are actively hiring for a Transportation Designer in Crown Point, IN! This person will work with a Civil Engineering Consulting team that primarily specializes in Water/Wastewater Treatment design. They work with a variety of different cities, towns, and communities across Indiana, and also provide support for Roadway, Street, and other Transportation design projects for those clients when needed. This position is open since the Transportation Design team is growing and the amount of projects is increasing. While this person will also assist in Water/Wastewater projects at times, their primary focus will be with the growing Transportation Design team.Designers at this level typically take Engineering Notes, Specifications, and Rough Sketches to formalize them into Working Drawings. This person will develop moderately complex Working Drawings and ensure that they meet Company and Industry Standards and Codes. Designers on this team usually understand the Materials and Methods normally used within the assigned discipline. This is a great chance for someone with proficient experience to work with a premiere engineering firm in a recession-proof industry while helping to grow this book of business.Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with projects engineers on design activities.

Prepare engineering drawings for construction.

Assist with quantity take-offs.

GIS figure development.

Preparing roadway, street and similar transportation related construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Working with Civil Project Engineers and Project Managers on design activities related to transportation design projects

Preparing report figures for projects

Supporting other related engineering and design needs as they arise

Job Requirements:

5+ years of experience in Transportation Drafting/Design

2+ years of experience utilizing Civil 3D in a Professional Setting

Miscellaneous:

Standard Work Week will be Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm, and Friday from 7am to 11am.

This person can also choose to work from Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Average schedule is 44-45 hours per week.

Compensation will depend largely on specific level of experience related to this position.
