Job Title: INDOT Project SupervisorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a long-term Construction Project Supervisor to join our growing team. This role is vital to managing a significant project in Northwest Indiana that aims to eliminate septic tanks and replace them with new sanitary sewer lines. The project encompasses 3,500 acres, servicing approximately 9,300 people, and will run through December 2026.Responsibilities
Oversee and inspect the work of construction contractors to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards and construction specifications.
Manage the entire construction process, from pre-construction meetings to project closeout, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Maintain daily and weekly logs of job activities.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with engineers, materials testing labs, construction general contractors, and subcontractors.
Communicate and coordinate daily with construction contractors’ staff.
Complete daily reports and perform field measurements.
Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
Essential Skills
1+ years of construction project supervisor/RPR experience on INDOT projects or sanitary sewer/lift station projects OR 5+ years of construction inspection experience.
INDOT Certified Technician with all six INDOT certifications.
Professional experience overseeing the entire construction process, including pre-construction, project closeout, and ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Site Manager experience is beneficial but not required.
Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather.
Work EnvironmentThe construction project supervisor will work outside in various weather conditions, either from their truck or a field office trailer. This is a hands-off inspection position, focusing on visual inspections. The role includes travel, with mileage reimbursed at 0.62 cents per mile (door to door).
