Entry Level Civil Engineers – Crown Point, INWe are actively hiring a Civil Engineer to support the Transportation Department of a Water/Wastewater firm in Crown Point, IN! This person will work with a Project Team to complete assigned tasks, and projects will include the Transportation Engineering and Design for Water/Wastewater infrastructure jobs. Through these projects, this candidate will participate in helping communities and industries with transportation plans for complex environmental infrastructure problems that are integral to our society. Perform sub-professional engineering tasks such as field work, inspections, engineering reports, permits, construction engineering, and simple design calculations.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior level team member.
Coordinate with contractors and c ontact government officials for permits.
Review construction drawings and specifications.
Job Requirements:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
Graduation GPA of 3.2 or higher
May consider candidates with 3.0 GPA if they have a B or higher in all Hydrology Courses
Will not consider any candidates below 3.0 GPA
Basic Engineering Principles & Willingness to Learn New Skills
Interest in Transportation Engineering and/or the Water/Wastewater industry
Preferred but Not Required – Professional Experience (does not have to be Entry Level)
Preferred but Not Required – Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Certification
Preferred but Not Required – Graduate Degree in Related Engineering Discipline
Schedule & Compensation:
Standard hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Candidates may choose to work a flexible schedule instead, where they may start as early as 7am (and leave early) or as late as 9am (and stay later). Candidates may also choose to work 9-hour days Monday through Thursday, with a 4-hour day on Friday.
Some overtime hours will be required.
Starting Salary for this role are set at:
Entry Level Civil Engineers with no FE = $72,000 ($34.62/hour)
Entry Level Civil Engineer with FE = $74,000 ($35.58/hour)
Experienced Civil Engineer with FE = Negotiable Depending on Experience
Person will get Straight Time pay for overtime hours worked after 40 hours in a given week.
Candidates will receive 9 Paid Holidays and 2 Weeks of PTO to start.
