Salary Range : $77,100 - $115,700 AnnualJob DetailsCNO Financial Group’s Accounting Department is hiring a Sr Investment Accounting and Financial Reporting Analyst to coordinate the accounting, reporting and financial statement preparation for in-house investment firm within CNO Financial Group.This is your opportunity to utilize STAT and GAAP financial statements for assigned entities.As a Sr Investment Accounting and Financial Reporting Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing journal entries, elimination entries and reconciliations with support that provides adequate audit evidence.

Providing documentation and analysis that supports financial statements. Identifies and resolves potential data or financial reporting issues.

Explaining significant fluctuations between actual results for the current and prior periods and plan for assigned entities, as applicable.

Preparing / creating complex calculations and analysis critical to preparation of GAAP and STAT financial statements using advanced accounting concepts and technology with minimal guidance.

Preparing statutory and GAAP disclosures required in the regulatory filings including statutory NAIC filings and SEC 10-Q / 10-Ks.

Reviewing and directing the work of Accountants as determined by the Manager.

Leading assigned projects for the team requiring collaboration with other team members and various levels within Finance, IT and others.

Communicating and presenting information to various levels within the organization including senior management as well as external vendors.

Contributing to the maintenance of a strong internal control environment meeting SOX objectives

The Sr Investment Accounting and Financial Reporting Analyst position is well-suited for you if you:

Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Identify and resolve complex accounting problems.

Work well independently and with a team.

Analyze problems and implement solutions.

Utilize Excel or other software solutions to analyze large data sets.

Possess excellent attention to detail and understanding of accounting principles.

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.

What will set you apart:

CPA or current progress towards obtaining a CPA.

Attained or in pursuit of attaining a master’s degree in accounting.

Prior experience within insurance industry accounting, particularly with investments.

Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.
