We are an Ecological Restoration firm focusing on mission driven conservation and restoration-oriented projects throughout the Midwest. Our clients include but are not limited to: The Nature Conservancy, Indiana Department of Natural Resources (State Parks, Nature Preserves, and Fish & Wildlife), US Forest Service, numerous Land trusts, and private landowners. This position is responsible for assisting with maintaining our fleet of trucks, trailers, and a wide variety of equipment. For interested and experienced applicants there may be opportunities to work in the field as well, but this is not required.
The General Maintenance Technician will perform equipment and fleet maintenance to help keep Eco Logic in a state of readiness. Our equipment includes but is not limited to the following: agricultural sprayers, backpack sprayers, water transfer pumps, chainsaws, brush saws, our UTV fleet (John Deere, Kubota, Polaris), Tractors and a variety of implements, Caterpillar skid steers and a variety of implements, a variety of trailers, and our vehicle fleet of ten Ford trucks (6.7L Diesel F350’s, 6.8 and 7.3L Gasoline F350’s, and F150’s) The position may also be required to assist with basic DOT compliance needs and some building and facility maintenance. This would be a part-time position with some flexibility on the days worked with an estimate of 25-30 hours a week. Hours may fluctuate slightly in both directions from week to week.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists with Fleet maintenance and State of Readiness such as:
- Oil changes
- Diaphragm replacements on ag sprayers
- Tire plugging
- Small engine carburetor cleaning and rebuilding
- Chainsaw clutch and sprocket replacement
- Chainsaw chain and brush saw blade sharpening
-Winch installation and basic repairs
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Plan repair work using equipment manual and/or building blueprints as needed.
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Assists with cleaning dirty equipment, to prevent the spread of invasives plants.
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Valid Driver’s License
Clean Driving Record
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Knowledge of small engine and vehicle maintenance.
Knowledge of basic carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience required.
Some on-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
