Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Westchester, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in daily data entry for payroll processing. Responsibilities: Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll. Perform computations related to wages, deductions, premiums, and other payroll-related matters. Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, etc.) Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed. Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP Financial Services. Utilize accounting software systems to facilitate processes and enhance reporting. Manage compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements. Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Coordinate with HR department in setting up new hires in the payroll system. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors. Leverage skills in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System to enhance payroll processes. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll specialist role within the manufacturing industry Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration Proficiency in About Time software Experience with ADP - Payroll system Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various departments Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
