Description:

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Assistant is to maintain the ground, facility, and equipment safely and efficiently, to ensure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities:

· Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.

· Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.

· Perform Routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.

· Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed or called.

· Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.

· Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services.

· Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects.

· Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.

· Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous condition, i.e, grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, etc., to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all time. Refer to material safety data sheets when necessary.

· Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.

Paint and drywall experience a must

No experience is required, but some is preferred.

Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems.

Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.

Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
