Our team is growing! We're adding an Operations Specialist to our team. This role maintains process oversight and resolution of daily workload performed in conjunction with our offshore partners in supporting regional office assignments. In addition, the Operations Specialist ensures that client accounts in their region are proactively reviewed to resolve billing discrepancies with insurance carrier markets, handling incoming escalations, resolving sophisticated servicing issues, and reviewing outstanding financial transactions. This role is 100% virtual. We have an excellent training program to provide you with hands-on training and internal resources to give you the ongoing development and tools you need to succeed! Your impact as an Operations Specialist

Supports sales offices within assigned region to ensure high levels of customer service for Aon clients.

Conducts conference calls with internal and external stakeholders to resolve client servicing issues on behalf of our offshore partners.

Works across business units and solution lines to provide direction on actions needed to clear open accounts receivable and premium payable items.

Supports cash management initiatives.

Oversees the review and resolution of outstanding financial transactions including Receivable & Payable Cash on Account, Client Advances, Payable Holds, On Account Disbursements, Debit Payables.

Participates in regular team meetings and daily mentoring with our offshore partners.

Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

An understanding of entry-level accounting, with 1-3 years of insurance experience preferred

Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Associate of Arts degree (AA) or equivalent from an accredited 2-year college or technical school; minimum of one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred competency skills

Communicates optimally with others: Speaks and writes in a clear and concise manner when communicating with coworkers, supervisors and customers.

Solves problems: Examines and interprets information from different sources, demonstrating the ability to formulate effective action steps to resolve problems.

Contributes to quality and exhibits an attention to detail: Understands scope of task/project assigned and ensures quality during all phases up to and including task resolution without overlooking details.

Applies job and technical knowledge: Understands job expectations and applies accounting/finance knowledge, skills, and abilities in the appropriate situations.

Commitment to client service: Proactively assesses, identifies, and responds to the needs of internal clients. Consistently meets or exceeds service expectations. Establishes and achieves agreed upon measures of client satisfaction.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, Illinois The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
