Metals Prep Laboratory Technician

Eurofins Environment Testing is looking for a TCLP Technician for our Tinley Park lab. The lab tests soil and water samples. The TCLP Technician would pick up samples from the Login Department and prepare them for analysis – weigh them, filter them, make buffer solutions, test for things such as pH and then distribute them to the applicable department. The role requires being able to learn several different methods in preparing samples. It involves more manual, physical lab work, handling a variety of samples, which can be dirty or have an odor.Duties/skills:Demonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityApplies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriatePerforms routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesCalculating dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceResponsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins environmental health safety and quality assurance standardsResponsible for general housekeeping in work areaAbility to become trained and competent on instrumentation and instrument specific data systems.Works under close supervision using routine and standard methodsAliquots and weighs samplesWashes glasswareConducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assigned
