Accounting Assistant

Description We are offering a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity for a meticulous and structured Accounting Assistant in the Wholesale Distribution industry. Based in Skokie, Illinois, the successful candidate will play a key role in our corporate finance team, handling corporate accounting entries and functions.Responsibilities: Accurate and timely execution of corporate month-end accruals Conducting balance sheet account reconciliations Managing employee expense reports through the Certify web portal and ensuring seamless integration with our ERP system Vendor maintenance setup in our ERP system (JD Edwards) Preparing reports for management, including gross profit and expenses Performing intercompany revenue elimination entries Confirming intercompany accounts receivable/payable Contributing to special projects within finance as required Utilizing Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Great Plains (GPAC), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites for accounting functions Managing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing functions, and cash activity. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites Ability to perform Accounting Functions Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) Demonstrated skill in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing Functions Ability to manage Cash Activity Familiarity with Wholesale Distribution industry Ability to work independently and within a team Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines High level of integrity and trustworthiness Knowledge of general accounting principles and regulatory standards Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Strong problem-solving skills.
