You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Roscoe, Illinois area.What you get to do every single day

Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management Requirements - 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

High attention to detail

Comprehensive knowledge of Sage Timberline

Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

CPA or MBA preferred

Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
