Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsAdherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materialsJob DescriptionPosition SummaryAs a Production Scientist I in our Coated Plate Production team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the opportunity to be part of a world-class manufacturing operation. Our focus is on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and we are committed to achieving exceptional results in these areas. Your expertise, training, and leadership skills will be key in ensuring the effective and efficient production of our products.Key Responsibilities

Complete weekly production work orders to ensure timely delivery of products.

Set up and operate a variety of automated and semi-automated filling equipment in the plate room, including handling hazardous products with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Accurately complete all necessary manufacturing documentation, such as batch record sheets, engineering changes, and deviations.

Collaborate with departments like Planning, Quality, and Engineering to support day-to-day activities and continuous improvement projects.

Assist team members with work orders, drawing on your experience and knowledge to ensure flawless execution.

Help determine and prioritize daily work schedules to meet or exceed department metrics.

Perform equipment cleaning, assembly, and disassembly as required.

Foster a cooperative environment by building positive relationships with your team and effectively communicating management's mission, vision, and priorities.

Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to promote best work practices.

Lead problem-solving efforts and continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, cost, and throughput.

Take the lead in troubleshooting production issues and resolving technical concerns.

Set an example for others by strictly adhering to all policies, promoting safety, and demonstrating a strong work ethic.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

B.S. or B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the industry.

Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong delegation skills to effectively assign tasks as needed.

Continuous drive for personal and professional improvement, with an openness to constructive feedback.

Experience in setting up and operating automated and semi-automated filling equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to wear PPE, including a full face respirator, when required.

Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Capable of lifting and moving weights up to 40 pounds.

Familiarity with hazardous waste management and associated safety protocols.
