Electric Department Maintenance Mechanic / Relay Technician

Apply NowThe City of Peru is accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanic within our Electric Department. Responsibilities will include configuration, and programming of microprocessor-based devices (PLCs / RTUs / Meters), operating and maintaining generators, SCADA system support functions & operations, AMI metering system, GIS mapping data collection and recording, networking and communications equipment / systems and fiber optic cable splicing and termination. Troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment / machinery is required. Working overtime and performance of duties in adverse conditions / weather will be required. Candidates are required to have an associate degree in Electricity, Electronics, or equivalent military / professional training. Possess an Illinois class A CDL or can obtain one within 6 months of employment. Candidate must have the ability to lift a maximum of 100 pounds with reasonable physical stamina. Candidates with a more extensive background in electric utility operations and maintenance are encouraged to apply. Full-time position with competitive compensation and excellent benefit package.
