Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.This Engineering Tech Steward (also known as an Engineering Fellow) position is a recognized leader and authority in the large structures or heavy structures, light structures or light fabrication, performance structures, and work tools for Earthmoving machine development, specifically, Medium Track-type Tractors, Medium Wheel Loader, Motor Graders, and Paving products.What You Will Do:As a tech steward, the incumbent will provide the technical leadership to a multifunctional, worldwide CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) team responsible for the development of a product and process to fulfill the duty of:

Lead or serve as a primary contributor to Earthmoving’s structures ICTs (International CPPD Team) in the development and execution of value stream strategies, including MGPP (Multigenerational Product/Process Plan) for technology development and deployment.

Facilitate or provide sourcing decisions in alignment with the category sourcing strategy.

Drive technical synergy alignment between Earthmoving and the enterprise in aftermarket and electrification, digital, and sustainability.

Conduct technical reviews and serve as the technical advisor and gatekeeper for crucial New Product Development (NPIs), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and urgent issue resolutions.

Lead the knowledge sharing and promoting best practices, commonality, and simplification across Product Groups

Manage access and updates to the technical information collection for design guides and engineering standards.

Lead or represent Earthmoving in technical community activities, such as events and special projects.

Engage with Large, Light, Performance Structure, and Work tools partners on continuous improvement initiatives.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following: design and promote new products and processes; contribute to establishing strategies for new process and product programs; develop and manage the project/program to the plan; perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products and/or processes, perform product/process maintenance; keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies; communicate technology to customers, team members, suppliers and other units; support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers, mentor, coach and develop others, represent the company externally.What You Have (Basic Requirements):

Degree Requirement : bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering curriculum and deep expertise in structures development for Earthmoving or Mining machine applications.

Effective Communication: Must communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.

Analytical Thinking: Structures (large, light, performance structures, and work tools) experience with excellent analytical skills and an extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Significant challenges facing incumbents are keeping up to date with technology and demonstrating technical expertise in a specialty area. This position must demonstrate the ability to develop and manage a complex project plan. Technical leadership skills are essential, and the incumbent must communicate effectively across the organizations.

Product Development Life Cycle – Manufacturing: Must have solid knowledge and experience in product development of structures, including design, validation (simulation and testing), manufacturing (including supply collaboration), and aftermarket support.

Demonstrated leadership and achievement in structure design and CPPD.

Deep expertise in product development, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in structure system simulations and testing.

Strong understanding of structures supply base and the manufacturing process, quality control pertinent to thermal cutting, forming, welding, casting, forging, machining, painting, assembly, etc.

Familiarity and experience with process and knowledge of Earthmoving products, namely Medium Track-type Tractor, Medium Wheel Loader, Motor Grader, and Paving products.

Additional Info :

Location: Peoria, IL (Building AH).

10-15% domestic and international travel is expected.

Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.
