Description Are you an Accounting Clerk looking to join a well-respected organization? Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk position seeks an experienced candidate in the following tasks: matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment based in the Palatine, Illinois area.Major responsibilities
Post financial information to journals and ledgers
-Some data entry tasks
Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Resolve discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Requirements
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
2+ years of relevant experience
Proven knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel experience
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
High-Volume Invoicing experience desired
Data entry experience
Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
