Works well individually and as part of the team.Preferred Job Qualifications: Three years of medical office experience. Epic software knowledge.Responsibilities:
Schedules, reschedules, or cancels perioperative surgical and procedural appointments.
Monitors and maintains established guidelines for case assignments by time, room, availability of equipment and supplies.
Validates availability and coordinates activities with special vendors and all sales representatives.
Communicates with members of the perioperative team, including the surgeon/proceduralist to coordinate schedule and case needs.
Coordinates case scheduling information to ensure best use of resources.
Maintains a direct communication line with the key perioperative staff and leadership team.
Keeps an open line of communication to medical staff to alleviate missing information for scheduled procedures.
Solves surgical scheduling problems by seeking out the appropriate people and resources.
Verifies credentials to ensure appropriate privilege is in place for requested surgical case/procedure.
Answers telephone calls efficiently and courteously.
Provides information as requested or routes calls appropriately.
Updates electronic medical record appropriately.
Works as part of the surgical scheduling team and accepts other duties as requested.
Handles a variety of office details that involve action, including, but not limited to: retrieving and sending mail, preparation of surgical documents and packets, filing documentation into medical records, sending and receiving faxes, and creating duplicate copies of surgical forms.
Exemplifies professionalism by maintaining a courteous demeanor in all communications with departmental staff, clinical staff, physicians, and all outside visitors and contacts.
Performs duties to assist the medical staff independently at the direction of management.
Performs data entry for payroll.
Performs billing and follow-up duties in partnership with charge capture coordinator.
Coordinates billing information and verifies charges for completeness, accuracy, and consistency when covering charge capture.
Insures accurate and timely submission of billing information.
Achieves and maintains technical expertise on applicable software and computer systems that are currently utilized.
Coordinates quality/projects throughout peri-op services in conjunction with Director.
