Description Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience who is interested in working with an esteemed Financial Services firm. In this position, you will be in charge of preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, and preparing audits, as well as managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates should enjoy analytical tasks, challenges, and fast-paced environments. Located in Northbrook, Illinois, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Financial Services field. Employees receive solid compensation and benefits. You will also have the chance for growth.Major responsibilities

Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

Partake in various department-wide initiatives

Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary Requirements - Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

CPA experience preferred

Earlier work involving financial analysis

Wide ranging experience with Partnership Tax Returns

Experience with Financial Statement

Quality experience with Individual Tax Return

Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation

General familiarity with Income Statements

Proficiency in Corporate Income Tax

Foundational knowledge in Corporate Tax Return

Practical knowledge of cash flow statements

Well-founded grasp of Balance Sheets

Solid understanding of QuickBooks

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

ERP system experience
