Hotel:Normal Marriott201 Broadway AveNormal, IL 61761Restaurant ServerFull timeAtrium SPIRIT – where teamwork, passion and appreciation ignite service excellencePrimary Purpose:The primary purpose of the Restaurant Server is to provide guests with an excellent restaurant experience.Work Performed:The Restaurant Server will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or specialservices;   

Ensure prompt and courteous service toguests; 

Answer telephone calls and process phoneorders;

Greet guests, escort them to tables, and provide menus, answering dining related questions, and suggest food and beverageitems; 

Take food and beverage orders, relay orders to kitchen,and serve food toguests; 

Coordinate amenity delivery request in connection with the kitchendepartment; 

Monitors tables in assigned section ensuring allguestsareserved;

Address guestcomplaints;  

Collect and process guestpayments;  

Totals receipts at end of shift to verify sales and clear cashregister;  

Ensures tips are reported properly for taxprocessing;

Clear dirty table settings and prepare table forresetting;  

Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen andcondiments;

Inspect dining room serving stations for neatness andcleanliness; 

Assist service staff as necessary to service guests in a timelymanner;

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; and

Any and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

Qualifications:Preferred Prior Experience:Six (6) months of previous customer service, restaurant and/or cashier experiencePreferred Education:High school diploma or equivalentRequired Licenses/ Certification:Food Safety Training certified or become certified within first 60 days of employment.  Alcohol Awareness certified or become certified within first 60 days of employment  Preferred Technology:Previous experience with Micros operating systemPhysical:Able to lift a minimum of 50lbsAble to bend and squat repeatedlyAble to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shiftOther:Flexible to work day, early morning, evening, weekend and holiday shiftsWhen you’re an Atrium Associate, you’re a part of a crucial workforce providing the ultimate ‘Home Away From Home’ for our guests.
