General Summary: Operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance to established protocols. Assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining films, images, and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. Explains procedure to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust. At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification. Must successfully complete certification exam and be registered within six months of hire into position
IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure or “notice of IEMA compliance and authorization to perform medical radiation”
Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association
Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology(ACR)/JCAHO requirements in order to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations
