Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job Summary:As a Software Application Engineer, you will contribute to defining, testing, and deploying Caterpillar's critical feature protection system (FPS) application. You will assist in determining priorities, monitoring development progress, and reporting project status.We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the teamWhat You Will Do:

Gather and analyze requirements to create and document application software requirement specifications.

Collaborate with global software development team to convey application requirements and issues.

Test and assist debugging application software using different tools and methods to improve code quality and optimize system performance.

Assist with global teams to provide post production users support.

Education requirement:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systemsWhat skills you will have:Technical Excellence:

Software development project process experience.

Working knowledge of software architecture and Java or similar programming languages.

Applies current procedures and technologies to help resolve technical issues in one's general area of technical competence.

Helps others solve technical or procedural problems or issues.

Analytical Thinking:

Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.

Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts.

Effective Communications:

Superior written and verbal communication skills.
