Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job summary:The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer on the Fuel Systems solenoid team. In this role you will join a team of engineers developing and supporting electromagnetic solenoids for Caterpillar fuel injectors and pumps. The position works at the intersection between electrical and mechanical engineering and offers a breadth of technical opportunities: supplier collaboration, technical problem-solving, detailed design, hands-on testing, quality issue resolution, NTI/NPI program leadership, design validation, and manufacturing implementation.What you will do:

Collaborate with suppliers to identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues.

Design new solenoid products

Develop, validate, and implement design changes.

Communicate project status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.

Degree Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.Skills you must have:Technical Excellence: Level Extensive Experience:Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.Level Extensive Experience:Product Design - MFG: Level Extensive Experience:Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.Product Design and Development: Level Extensive Experience:Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.Top candidates will also have:

Professional experience with electrical and mechanical components.

Additional Information:

This position is located in Mossville, IL.

Up to 15% travel is required for this position.
