Lapping Operator

Determines time cycle to produce required size and finish of parts being lapped. Works to tolerances as close as .001 and 1 light band.Monitors lapping machine for condition, and lap plate flatness.  Alerts supervisor or machine conditioner when adjustments are required.Hand polishes during machine operation when required.Degreases parts and cleans degreasing tank as required.Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) when requiredMay be required to operate more than one machine simultaneously.Works form factory work orders, production route tickets, written or verbal instructions.Makes proper job and time reports for timekeeping.Keeps machine and work area clean and orderly.Additional duties and responsibilities may vary based upon individual branch requirements.
