As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for establishing effective framework and processes for metadata management and establishing business rules policies, standards, and procedures across the US Therapeutic Operations data domains. You will work closely with functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to implement processes that enhance data discoverability and understanding.To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing a comprehensive business glossary, maintaining an enterprise data dictionary, and developing capabilities to capture and manage critical business rules. As the Senior Manager of Metadata and Business Rules Management, you will be responsible for developing strategies that enable the business to effectively utilize data, improve scalability of data and analytics capabilities, and foster a deeper understanding of key data assets.In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring our organization's data governance framework is robust and effective. You will be responsible for developing and executing standards and procedures that establish a culture of data-driven decision-making, ensuring that our data is reliable, accurate, and consistent. Partners with business stakeholders, BTS (IT), and data owners to develop and implement the metadata management strategy across business domains

Leads the creation and management of the data catalog and business glossary for all commercial and patient services data in partnership with data stewards across business domains.

Defines metadata policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate data understanding across the organization

Leads initiatives to refine existing metadata, address current metadata gaps, and enforce metadata best practices.

Develop and implement procedures for documenting data lineage from source to consumption

Collaborate with data stewards and custodians to promote metadata ownership and utilization within their data domains

Partners with business data analysts, data stewards, and BTS (IT) to develop a roadmap and implementation plan for a business rules repository to streamline access to brand-specific business rules and improve the quality and speed of data-driven insights

Work with business process owners and data stewards to capture and manage key business rules utilized for brand reporting and analytics

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.

7+ years of experience with data management and governance tools, such as Alation, Collibra, or Informatica, and Master Data Management Tools like Reltio.

Advanced knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and handling semi-structured/unstructured data stores is essential.

Extensive experience working with and managing code libraries with integrated version control (i.e., git) for key business processes

Experience in authoring metadata management standards, ensuring adherence by business leads and users.

Proficiency in data engineering tools and languages like Python, SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL) is expected.

Prior experience in the Pharma industry is preferred.

Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices is necessary.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required.

The ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment is important.
