Be responsible for providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs. You will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various projects. You are the point of contact for external customers and you may participate in development of new business opportunities and product linesPosition Summary-Provides consultation, advice, and supervision to other members of the Inline group. Develops new research projects to improve or expand the application of near-infrared (NIR) or other spectroscopic analyses and multivariate process chemometrics for the inline control of refining and petrochemical processes. Works at all stage of the program, from concept development to data acquisition to online implementation and follow-up analysis. Works actively and closely with the internal pilot plants customers to optimize spectroscopic performance on their plants. Accountabilities include installing and maintaining online fiber optics, NIR spectrophotometer systems; acquiring NIR spectra of customer samples; using a variety of software to analyze the data by multivariate techniques; developing predictive models for inline control; and evaluating and providing reports on the data acquired. Will also be involved in developing exploratory research projects to evaluate innovative technologies or new software systems used in the inline area, including multivariate analysis programs, alternative analytical techniques, and new inline instrumentation (i.e., NMR, Raman, etc.).Will be working heavily in the following area-
