Description Job Description:We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk – Collections Specialist to join our growing team. This individual will play a crucial role in our company’s finance department, assisting with the efficient and accurate processing and monitoring of incoming payments. A core responsibility will be to manage our collection efforts with a focus on maintaining customer trust and building relationships.Responsibilities:
Handle and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes professionally and efficiently.
Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, discrepancies, and irregularities.
Maintain up-to-date billing system, conducting account reconciliations when required.
Track and reconcile bank statements, prepare and deliver periodic statements.
Initiate collections on past-due accounts by communicating with customers via telephone, email, and mail.
Coordinate with the sales and customer service department to align collection efforts.
Maintain accurate records of collection efforts, including customer contact, payment plan set up, and follow up activity.
Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.
Assist with audits and special projects, as well as period closing activities, as needed.
Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Prior experience in accounts receivable or collections.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under deadlines.
Able to interpret and apply credit & collections policies and procedures.
Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
Available to work extended hours as needed.
