Job Description: The Payroll/PBJ Specialist is responsible for providing a broad and varied range of high-level administrative, timekeeping, and data management functions to ensure staffing level needs are continually met for multiple facilities. Specialist needs to work in a collaborative environment ensuring department policy and regulations are met. As a PBJ Specialist, you will oversee the payroll and timekeeping system, and monitor staffing trends and generate reports as needed to submit, analyze and trend the Payroll-Based Journal. Some of the responsibilities of a payroll Specialist
Work collaboratively with the leadership team to facilitate staffing changes.
Validate and process all payroll and staffing hour worked for your assigned facilities.
Maintain personnel database regarding salaries.
Address and resolve employee complaints related to processing payroll.
Assist with data collection for reporting on financial indicators and staffing-related data.
Utilize PBJ applications and applicable reports daily to logistically provide supplemental resources to the institution.
Stays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases and decreases.
Contacts each nursing unit each morning to validate the schedule against the actual. Adjusts as needed with the assistance of the scheduler.
work with external agencies to maintain systems for reporting worked hours
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Must have a robust understanding of PBJ submissions
Must be able to work onsite.
Must have, as a minimum (2) years of payroll experience in long-term care
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong follow-up skills & attention to detail
Experience w/ payroll processing software
