Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in ITASCA, Illinois. As a crucial part of our finance department, you will be involved in maintaining financial records, processing journal entries, and improving our accounting procedures. This role is pivotal in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to our overall business objectives.Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries and work papers to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statements. Conduct account reconciliations and address any discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary information and assistance. Develop and sustain strong working relationships with members of the financial and accounting communities. Assist in the documentation and testing for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Propose changes to existing procedures to enhance efficiency within the accounting department. Perform other accounting duties as required and assigned. Utilize your skills in General Ledger and Account Reconciliation to maintain accurate customer credit records. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements Proficiency in General Ledger management Experience in Account Reconciliation Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred Strong knowledge in accounting principles and procedures Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze financial data Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with accounting software is a plus Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
