Plant Controller

Description We are searching for a diligent Plant Controller to join our team in Itasca, Illinois, in the Chemicals industry. The Plant Controller will oversee the accounting functions, including cost accounting, credit approvals, and account collections. This role will also involve regular travel to our subsidiary plant in Savannah, GA.Responsibilities: Oversee the accounting function for the manufacturing subsidiary, ensuring precision and efficiency. Handle cost accounting tasks with a specific focus on the manufacturing environment. Oversee payroll operations, ensuring all payroll processes are carried out accurately and on time. Take responsibility for credit approvals, ensuring all credit decisions are made prudently and in line with company policy. Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and complete. Provide support for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations. Handle collections tasks, working to recover any overdue payments. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Maintain accurate records of all customer credit applications. Regularly travel to the subsidiary plant in Savannah, GA, to ensure alignment between headquarters and plant operations. Requirements Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) Familiarity with Annual Budget preparation and management Proficiency in Auditing practices and procedures Experience in Budget Processes, including planning and execution Strong understanding of Cost Accounting Prior experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting Knowledge of the Chemicals industry Experience in Credit Approvals and management Familiarity with Collections processes and best practices Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) management Knowledge of Cost - Standard practices Familiarity with Overhead Rates calculation and analysis Proficiency in Inventory Accounting Experience in Inventory Analysis.
