Description Robert Half is in the process of recruiting an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with a company in the Machinery Manufacturing field. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, you will have the opportunity to become an indispensable part of a company in the Machinery Manufacturing industry. Located in Homewood, Illinois, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary position. In this influential department, there is a possibility for further career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk duties will include matching and batching code invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks.Major responsibilities
Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling
Carry out additional projects as required
Provide support to internal business partners
Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them
Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Complete full-cycle A/P
Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Solid understanding of data entry
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
