High School Diploma or equivalent.

A valid class “B” CDL driver’s license with air brake endorsement is required or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months. Must have a clean driving record.

Possess a State of Illinois pesticide license or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months.

Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 lbs. on a frequent basis, and over 70 lbs. on an occasional basis with or without reasonable accommodations. Continuously walking or standing, frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting and occasionally sitting.

Ability to work on lifts or ladders, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals pertaining to facilities and equipment installed and serviced.

Effective communication skills.

Practical and demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to effectively handle working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to fully support the mission and values of the College

Maintain the exterior of the College, including lawn mowing, cultivating flowers, and trees, seeding and spraying.

Repair and maintain College vehicles.

Repair and maintain equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors, sprayers, etc.

Perform all snow removal on campus parking lots, roads, and sidewalks.

Prepare the athletic fields, including spraying, fertilizing, and striping.

Build equipment as needed such as picnic benches, barricades, etc.

Repair roadways as necessary.

Assist with the maintenance of the prairie area as needed.

Transport heavy equipment for other departments as needed.
