Description:RESPONSIBILITIES: -Before working on a specific project, this individual will learn the product line through a combo of doing CAD work (2D AutoCAD & 3D Solidworks modeling). -Candidates will also assist with purchasing activities as well as helping out on the manufacturing floor (learning hands on from welders, fabricators, and builders). -Once there is some comfort with the equipment/product line, will start to have their own projects assigned for manufacturing or quotation. Initially these will probably be smaller in scope (retrofits/conveyors/ etc) but will get larger as time passes. -50% Applications Department - Design work learning the systems, quoting projects using 2D AutoCAD, customer interactions -30% Purchasing - training under a retiring engineer (Joe), Specs/verifying standards for international customers, PO's/sending them and following up with customers -20% Modeling -2D/3D (solidworks) modeling support to help the design work misc/travel - almost none in the first year, very small local travel after first yearSkills:Mechanical Design, BSME, Solidworks, AutoCAD, DesignTop Skills Details:Mechanical Design, BSME, Solidworks, AutoCADAdditional Skills & Qualifications:MUSTS: 1-4 Years of Experience (Internship included) -2D AUTOCAD/Solidworks Experience -Experience seeing designs being built/implemented on a manufacturing floor. -Ability to Manage Multiple Projects, processes, or tasks simultaneously. -Great communication skills - will interact directly with shop personnel, sales people, vendors, and customers -Prior project or class work doing stress analysis PLUS: -BSME or Engineering Degree Machine Design (especially rotating equipment/machinery) – powered equipment that uses motors & drive systems Instrumentation: instrumentation for pressure/flow/level/temperature (transmitters, switches, valves) Piping: layout experience (especially in regards to integrating machinery/product into customer sites) o API (American Petroleum Institute) knowledge would help (used in Oil/Gas industry) Pneumatics Electrical/PLC knowledge/experienceExperience Level:Entry LevelAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
