But more importantly, you work for the good of your career, your family, your community, and your world.Job Summary:Caterpillar is looking for an experienced software engineer that will serve as the subject matter expert for an in house developed python, flask, application. This role is 80% architecture, modeling, code reviews, 20% development.What You Will Do:
Provide software architecture, technical architecture, data architecture for the application.
Work with end users of the application to drive out new features and requirements.
Design new solutions to deliver additional functionality within the application. This includes logical process flows and physical data flows of the new solution or changes to existing functionality.
Own the data model of the application and design any model changes.
Create design and specifications that are transferred to the development team for build.
Development team may be working in different time zones or parts of the world. Will need to build and maintain a relationship required to produce results.
Provide guidance on methods or help to other developers on the team as required.
Set priorities and roadmap for future use cases.
Scrum master for the development team.
Own and drive secure code and development of the team. Own the processes and standards used by all developers.
Conduct code reviews for code delivered by developers on the team, driving standards and ensuring quality from all development.
Own and maintain documentation and secure configurations of the environment.
Mentor junior team members.
What You Have:
Application architecture, design experience.
Data modeling experience.
Prior development experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Desired but not required:
Scrum master / agile development experience
Prior experience with python, flask, jinja, and ORM framework (object-relation model).
Ability to move fast in an environment with ambiguity at times, and with competing priorities and deadlines.
Prior experience with redesigning applications to run on cloud native solutions.
Experience in general security, cloud, and networking security.
Advanced certification in application development processes. CSSLP, SANS GPYC, SANS GWEB, SANS GCSA, CISSP, GitHub

This position requires working within the office at least 3 days per week.
