In this role as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Manager Manufacturing Engineering and will be primarily responsible for providing support and guidance on all aspects of production, cost, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing. As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will need to promote continuous improvement and help build a defect-free culture. Document safety risks of processes via Safety FMEAs and drive root cause corrective actions for any injuries and near misses to ensure a safe process for assembling dozers.
Provide new processes, tooling, and equipment for newly designed dozers and engineering changes, ensuring they are fully capable.
Document quality risks via Process FMEAs and reduce them through process and equipment improvements.
Reduce product assembly costs through process improvements.
Provide engineering support for the planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, and tooling.
Drive root cause corrective actions for process defects.
Education requirement:Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering or technology program; in lieu of previously held a job role in assembly manufacturing engineeringWhat skills you will have:Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Conducts evaluations of previous decisions to derive insights for enhancing the decision-making process.
Provides guidance to others in the analysis relevant data, as well as in the assessment of various alternatives.
Ensures that assumptions and conventional wisdom are subjected to objective analysis during the decision-making process.
Manufacturing Processes:
Provides counsel to others by leveraging industry experience and benchmarks to enhance the effectiveness of methodologies.
Instructs others on all critical tasks and considerations pertinent to the entire manufacturing process.
Identifies and optimizes specific methodologies tailored to particular processes.
Assesses the benefits, drawbacks, and suitability of alternative processes and technologies.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:
Ensures communication vehicles are effectively informing affected areas and employees.
Collaborates with other functions on establishing and documenting joint standards.
Participates in defining principles and standards for organization
Problem Management Process – MFG
Oversees the resolution of issues and provides feedback to downstream customers.
Executes established procedures for addressing non-standard or atypical problems.
Employs a specific discipline or methodology for problem-solving and resolution
