Join us.Job Summary:Manage Non-Metallic component procurement on behalf of Caterpillar's Resource Industries Division to deliver year over year Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) performance improvement and create value through suppliers. You'll serve as the industry expert for non-metallic manufacturing within Caterpillar. Deliver Global Leverage with Local Service Excellence.What You Will Do:Reporting directly to the Director of Global Procurement, this role is accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for Caterpillar’s non-metallic category. You'll collaborate with Site and Product Managers to create a competitive advantage for our customers and the enterprise by developing, optimizing, and integrating a world-class supply base. You must maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization and recognize employee excellence.Leadership: This person will recruit, train/mentor and manage a high performing, global team of supplier development engineers and purchasing professionals who will develop the supply base capable of meeting QCLDM requirements. Contributes to the establishment of best practices for A&C.Business Intelligence: Organizes and maintains data to be captured in the data warehouse for BI applications. Evaluates alternative BI products in terms of their potential value to organization. Develops targeted marketing campaigns based on BI analysis. Develops processes for transforming aggregate data into useful business information. Analyzes BI gained from multiple and diverse environments. Evaluates key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for existing BI activities.Category Management: Analyzes recent trends and developments related to category management and procurement and discusses future implications. Establishes best practices in category management and develops related training programs. Formulates a procurement strategy that utilizes the benefits of category management to streamline the procurement process and maximize business profitability. Identifies and defines KPIs to track and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process. Oversees the category management processes for all categories and provides technical guidance during implementation. Promotes the use of emerging tools and technologies for implementing the category management process.Supplier Management - MFG: Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward. Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements. Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers. Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers. Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments. Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.Strategic Sourcing: Participates in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process. Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments. Designs and develops standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions. Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation. Consults on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies and integration. Develops and explains strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.Additional InformationThe primary location for this position is Mossville, IL.
